The Challenge
Keeping Every Fan in the Race
At a venue as massive as Indianapolis Motor Speedway, simply seeing the track doesn’t guarantee seeing all the action. Different seating locations and sightlines can make it difficult for fans to follow every pass, pit stop, leaderboard change and critical race moment. The challenge was to create a more connected experience across the Speedway, eliminating visual blind spots while giving fans better access to live race content, scoring, analytics and event-day messaging.
But IMS is more than a sports venue—it’s a historic landmark in motorsports. Any technology upgrade needed to respect its iconic architecture and visual identity while delivering the performance, flexibility and reliability expected of a modern destination. The mission was clear: upgrade the technology without rewriting the history.
The Solution
No Bad Seat for Race Day
The expanded LED network transforms Indianapolis Motor Speedway into a more connected visual environment, extending the race experience beyond direct track sightlines. Fans can follow the competition, scoring, analytics and critical moments from seating areas, gathering spaces and locations where views of the track may be limited.
The 42’ x 24’ display serves as a visual anchor for thousands of spectators, while 27 Paddock displays and the 100’ Pagoda Plaza display help fill coverage gaps and engage fans throughout the property. The result is more than additional screens—it’s a more complete, connected and immersive race-day experience.
